This site gives details of the canoeing activities organised by The Humbledon Outdoor Activities Association, together with a resumé of the history, purpose and activities of The Association. Links are included to other similar activities in which members are known to participate.
The Annual Conex Canoe Race which was established in 1988 is held annually on the early May Day Bank Holiday Monday 5 miles on Grade 2 water Open to all paddlers Individuals, Canoe Clubs, Schools, Youth Organisations, Firms Starts There are three separate starts, at approximately five minute intervals, commencing at 12 noon. Large prize list Conex Cup to be held for one year by the overall winner. Numerous trophies are awarded in various classes. Entry fees - All entries on the day Start - Millennium Bridge, Durham City (Grid Ref. 274 430) Finish - Footbridge in front of Finchale Abbey (Grid ref: 296 471)
